1. General & Content Policy
Does Pluvira supply TV channels, video streams, or media content?
NO. Pluvira is strictly a self-hosted media management software and uninspected communication conduit. Pluvira does not host, broadcast, decode, cache, or distribute any media content. Users are solely responsible for supplying their own legitimate M3U playlists and XMLTV guides.
Is Pluvira open source?
The Pluvira container is distributed under the Business Source License 1.1 (BSL 1.1) for personal free use and converts automatically to the Apache License 2.0 five years after release.
2. Playlists, Curation & Failover
What happens when my 14-day Pro trial or subscription ends?
Pluvira enforces a strict non-destructive policy. Curated channels beyond position 25 in “My List” remain stored in your local SQLite database. They appear with a padlock badge in the WebUI and are excluded from dynamic M3U exports. Renewing Pro instantly unlocks all channels without re-configuration.
How does the 3-retry failover mechanism work?
When a stream returns a network or playback error, the player executes 3 progressive retries (500ms, 1000ms, 1500ms). If all 3 fail, the stream receives a -30 points health penalty and the player instantly switches to the next available backup stream in your slot pool without terminating your viewing session.
3. Security, Privacy & Cloud Services
Can Pluvira Cloud inspect my playlists, stream URLs, or credentials?
NO. Pluvira operates under strict Zero-PII and Zero-Knowledge architecture:
- Client IP addresses are stored exclusively as irreversible blind HMAC hashes.
- Cloud backups are encrypted client-side using AES-256-GCM; encryption keys never leave your local environment.
- WebRTC remote signaling operates as an uninspected “Mere Conduit”.
What happens if I lose my E2EE backup encryption passphrase?
Because backup snapshots use true Zero-Knowledge cryptography, lost passphrases cannot be recovered or reset by Pluvira Cloud. Always store your backup passphrase securely.
How do I recover active IP leases if my server abruptly terminates?
Log in to the Customer Portal using your biometric Passkey or OAuth account and click Reset Leases to immediately purge all active leases.
4. Hardware & NAS Deployment
What are the minimum hardware requirements?
Pluvira runs efficiently on any linux/amd64 or linux/arm64 system with as little as 1 CPU core and 100 MB RAM (Raspberry Pi 4/5, Synology NAS, Unraid, TrueNAS).
Can I run Pluvira behind an existing reverse proxy (Nginx / Traefik / Caddy)?
Yes. Pluvira binds to port 8585 by default. Configure your reverse proxy to forward HTTP traffic and WebSocket upgrades (Upgrade: websocket) for the WebUI.
